perfect shift dress with Foi Boutique

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday my darlin’ friends!! I hope that you are having a lovely week. I am currently taking care of my baby boy who has strep throat. He is just so pitiful. Mike and I both responded to the positive strep test with”who gave this to him?”. As a parent, we have this notion to hunt down the villain who contaminated our child #truth #stayawayfrommykid. LOL.

While on the subject of villain and parenting, we had my oldest son come home and tell us that a boy at school told him that he looks gay and sounds gay. What?!? Get behind me satan!! This momma started fuming and said a few unkind words about that kid. But, after the initial shock, we were able to instruct him how to respond in the right way with character and class. We both explained that in life we will always have someone trying to contaminate us with their ugly attitudes and heartless words {and maybe even strep throat}.

“Character cannot be delevoped in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened.” Helen Keller

So, even as an adult, it is our responsibility to model to our kids that we can’t let the behavior of others destroy us or control us. May we be kind, fierce and brave {that’s what the tender side of me is stating}. Gosh, this parenting stuff is challenging.

“Happy is the man who can brush aside the offending remarks and actions of another and goes on his way.”

Onto my favorite booties for fall which is also challenging. If I could only choose one pair, it would make it so much easier.  Here are a few that have caught my attention along with the ones that I am wearing which are under $55.

And, how about this simple shift dress that will transition perfectly into fall. I love the color of this particular dress, but it also comes in few other colors as well. It screams Autumn. Seriously, I can’t wait to be able to add a cardigan or denim jacket as the cooler days approach us. You can find this dress on Foi Boutique’s facebook HERE or on their Instagram HERE.

  • You are so thoughtful. I love this quote and it is so easy to react emotionally to negative comments. It takes true character to take this position and teach your little one how to respond respectfully. It’s tough dealing with personalities, but you got it mama!! xo Annie

    August 25, 2016
  • Ugh, kids can be so cruel. I can only hope the meanies out there turn into more accepting teens & then hopefully, amazing adults. Let’s hope! I love a good shift dress. I especially like the hem & sleeve detailing. Very cute. :]
