Self love means so much more than buying yourself a coffee at Starbuck’s, taking a walk or spending the day with a friend. For me, self love means to intentionally take care of my body, my soul and my mind.
.
Self love is not selfish; you cannot truly love another until you
know how to love yourself.

For the body:
I am STILL learning a thing or two. I am getting better at feeding my body the right foods, working my muscles throughout the week {I am happy to report that Bella + I are gym partners, WHOOP, WHOOP!!}, and getting the proper sleep. To encourage better sleep, I am learning to set up a routine which currently includes a LONG, hot bath with my lavender oil, my face serum, and comfortable pajamas. Even when I’m traveling, I’m doing by best to implement this routine.

So, let’s chat about comfortable pajamas. If you me well, you know that I am a sucker for all things cozy and comfortable. For years, I would just wear Mike’s old T-shirts to bed because I couldn’t find pajamas that were soft enough and that didn’t make me sweat. Gosh, nothing is worse than waking up and feeling so hot!!! I travel often so it is key that I pack soft, breathable pajamas. Soma is a brand that I have heard about from so many friends. And, their Cool Nights pajamas that is pictured above did not disappoint. I am happy to report that I will gladly trade all of the old T-shirts for this set.

Let’s move on to taking care of the soul:
Our soul is our feelings and emotions. Over the years, I’ve learned to tend to those feelings or emotions so I can reap boldness and confidence. In a practical way of walking this out, II also have learned that the right clothes includes a good bra. I recently wore an old bra that didn’t give much support. Y’all, it seriously caused me to be self conscious all flippin’ day. Our self confidence shouldn’t be defined by what we are wearing, but it helps to like the way your clothes and undergarments fit.
No one ever wants to walk around with saggy boobs. Am I right?!? These Enbliss bras from Soma are unbelievably comfortable. The straps don’t dig into my shoulders, and the cups offer the perfect lift. Yes please!! I am wearing the 32DD in the Soma Full Coverage Underwire Bra and a size medium in the Soma Racerback Bralette.

As far as taking care of my mind:
I make sure to read books that challenge me and encourage me. I also surround myself with people who challenge me to grow. Y’all, positivity is the only way in my world. I choose to feed my mind things that promote a healthy outlook on life. Writing quotes on note cards and posting them throughout the house has been one of my favorite ways to encourage a healthy mind.
.
Hope that this helped you see how I define self love. And, maybe, it encouraged you to be more proactive to become a healthier version of you.
