bell sleeve plum dress for fall

 I’m currently over the summer heat. Fall weather, could you please come early?!?
Well, I have started to rock the booties in celebration of its arrival. I couldn’t help but add some bell sleeves to my wardrobe. I am currently obsessed. You will definitely see more of the bell sleeves throughout the fall. This beautiful dress is the perfect shade of plum. It comes in a few other colors too.

Moving onto more important matters:
living a life un-offended. Is there such an accomplishment?!? Let’s just say that this is a bigger struggle for many of us even if you would like to admit it or not. In Luke, it says “It is impossible that no offense should come.”

Well, this week, I was SO tempted to let my heart carry an offense against this darlin’ human being that is closest to my soul. Before I tell you the story, let’s just say that my husband and I do not live a fairytale type life or marriage. Reality in our marriage is that we love hard, laugh a lot and have real talks. We do not hold back in sharing our true and current feelings. The good news is that our hearts are more in tune today than yesterday due to this real talk, real life.

So, here it is: I corrected him in front of the kids. Yes, I was wrong for correcting him in front of the kids. I just want to state that I didn’t like how he was reacting to our daughter and youngest son {this free spirit wife was telling her type A husband to loosen up}. He responded to me with some words  that were offensive in my opinion. Lol. My eyes were welling up with tears, and my insides were screaming “attack, attack”. Needless to say, I prayed under my breath and had to continue to pray. I EXPECTED him to just receive my correction without saying anything to defend. Sheesh, I was so wrong again.

I read this statement in one of John Bevere’s books. “We are setting ourselves up for an offense when we require certain behaviors from those whom we have relationships. The more that we expect, the greater the potential offense.”

The fact is that we can’t avoid these moments. They will come. So, what is the solution to becoming unoffendable?? LET IT GO!! Let go of the expectations, let go of the hurtful words, let go of the need to attack, just let go. It will rob us of our peace, our relationships, our future. Let’s choose to be unoffendable.
