Hey friends!!!! Hope that you all had a fabulous weekend. I am personally still recouping after spending a week in Texas. While we were there, we explored the city and took pictures of everything hence the cool, camera strap from DC Bags that I’m obsessed with. It made it easier to lug around my DLSR in the 110 degree weather!!

We also spent some time with our friends who live in McKinney. We chatted about our favorite books and resources, and she said “Do you have a blog post with your list of favorites??”. I thought that I did, but I decided to give y’all my updated list.
.
.
This list of favorite books + resources are my go-to, and it never fails that these tools are used to minister to the depths of my heart and relate to my momentary life. We have the demands of motherhood, wifehood, house duties, laundry duties, job deadlines, snotty noses, more laundry, and busy schedules. We individually have to find what works for us and what our secret place with God will look like.
.
I don’t know about you, but we have enough distractions and negativity coming from the media. So, any chance that I get, I love to keep my mind focused on things that feed me life (like Jesus!!!). I want to focus on the goodness of God and what He still has in store for us. I want to know His heart, His thoughts, and His dreams. I want to see things from His prospective. Ahhh, that stirs my heart so much just talking about it.
.
.
“A NEGATIVE MIND will never give you a POSITIVE LIFE.”
“Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.” ~Phil 4:8

Y’all, don’t get me wrong, I love movies, social media, music, and The Bachelor. I know. Garbage!! Ha!!! BUT, I do feed my mind and my heart with the good stuff. Along with my worship time and Word time, I have a couple of devotionals + books that are on constant repeat. They are packed with wisdom. I highly recommend that you choose one or all of them.
.
Here it is:
~Love Letters from God by Ivan Tait is always a good choice.
~Lysa Terkeurst has been my favorite author for over a year now. Uninvited is beautiful and eye opening. Her words always speak to me in the season that I am in.
~Loving on Purpose by Danny Silk is hands down the best, must-read book ever.
~ Jesus Calling and Letters from God in the kid’s version. It’s so great for us to do it as a family.
~Soul Detox by Craig Groeschel is one that I’ve read numerous times, and I love it even more each time.
~Unseen by Sara Hagerty will rock your world.
~Crazy Love by Francis Chan is a classic and will shake that religious spirit right off of ya!!
~Focus on the Family podcast is always so good. They have an app too!!
~Just to name a few podcast: Kris Vallotton, Bill Johnson, Steven Furtick, Craig Groeschel, Danny Silk, Christine Caine, Priscilla Shirer. I just open my podcast app and search for them. It’s that easy.

I’ll link all of the books/devotionals mentioned above. Just click on the picture, and it will bring you directly to the website.
