my MOM is a Gem

I couldn’t wait to show off my mom, Mary Marvel Aguillard. It was perfect timing to share her with you all with Mother’s Day right around the corner. If you can’t tell, I have the hottest 72 year old mom in the world. She has always amazed me. I credit all of my good attributes as a mom and wife to watching her as I was growing up. I credit my love for dressing up, accessorizing, and wearing makeup to her too. This gorgeous opal bracelet that we are sporting reminds me of all her jewelry that I would try on as a little girl. Isn’t it lovely??

 

I have to say that some of my fondest memories of my mom and I go way back. She was a great seamstress even though she wouldn’t admit that. She would let me pick out patterns and fabric so she could sew me the coolest and latest fashionable clothing. I remember this amazing patchy vest that I helped her create. I was so proud of that vest and of her. She not only was crafty but was the best example of what a loving wife and mom should look like. And, hello, she cooked the best southern food EVERY day and still does on Sundays for the whole family. Another fond memory is she supported me at every volleyball game and cheerleading event. It was a great feeling to know that she cared and valued what I cared and valued. She didn’t put her needs before the needs of myself and my siblings. We were loved and nurtured beautifully. I still learn from her as an adult. She’s a wise, faithful woman with a smile always on her face. She doesn’t meet a stranger and welcomes everyone into her home and her life. She is surely excellent in all that she does.
