Ruffles and over the knee boots

Hello weekend!! Well, another casual dress made its way into my closet. I personally love comfortable clothing. Give me all of the loose fitting dresses, and I would be perfectly content. Add ruffles and the $20 price tag, and I’m swooning!!! I seriously do love dresses because you can spice it up with over the knee boots and this necklace or style it casually with tennies and a denim jacket. By the way, I might have packed six dresses for our six day vacation!!

In my opinion, wearing a dress is always a good choice.

While at the beach in Panama City, Florida, we had lots of relaxation as we soaked up the salty air and sunshine {but we were under the umbrella and repeatedly applying sunscreen}. Part of the excitement was that I got to read a lot and reflect a lot. I am currently reading  the book Unoffendable by Brant Hansen. Y’all… it’s amazinggggg!!! I reread chapters 1-14 numerous times just in case I missed something the first time. I love to self evaluate and to be challenged to grow in all areas.

Here’s a small excerpt from chapter 2:

“Choosing not to take offense is not about ignoring wrongs. You don’t have to accept it. But, you can act without contempt, anger, and bitterness. Whatever anyone’s done to me, or to anyone else, I stand just as guilty. People have lied to me, but I’ve lied too. People have been unfaithful to me, but I’ve been unfaithful too. People have hurt me, but I’ve hurt them too. I get angry toward murderers, and then here comes Jesus, telling me if I’ve ever hated someone then I am the murderer’s moral equal. We all want to think that people are worse than us. It’s one of our favorite pastimes…. some people thrive on being offended at the behavior of other people.

BUT, God has a way for us to live- a HUMILITY that He has called us to- and it’s the way that we humans happen to really flourish.

Oh yes, the heart is deceptive. And it calls for humility above all else, because my heart isn’t deceptive because it fools other people. It’s deceptive because it fools ME.”
