GREEN DRESS- RIVER ISLAND ||WHITE BOOTIES- RIVER ISLAND

ROCKING A HAPPY FACE AND A HAPPY, GREEN DRESS FROM RIVER ISLAND. Green is by far my favorite color, and it is definitely a happy color. I think that is one of the reasons why I love cacti and plants so much. Do you have a color that makes you happy?? Although I don’t often buy clothes in this color, this particular dress was calling my name. Isn’t it darling?? I did find more PERFECT HOLIDAY DRESSES from RIVER ISLAND that would be great for work parties or other festivities.

So, what would consider yourself, glass-half-empty kind of person or glass-half-full kind of person?? Personally, I have always leaned towards being the glass-hall-full girl. It is definitely not easy, and when you become an adult, it is even more difficult. I honestly dislike myself so much when I’m not being optimistic. It’s seriously draining. And, y’all, it’s clinically proven that if you are an optimist/glass-half-full kind of person you are more likely to have a healthier heart, more likely to dream + succeed, and more likely to not binge eat.

With so much bad news blasting the headlines, it is so easy to slip into that negative mind frame. Y’all, joy is a choice that we make each and every day. Joy is more intense than happiness. Joy goes beyond circumstances, beyond the goosebumps that come along with new adventures or the tears that come along with being newly engaged. It is a quiet confidence in God. A quiet confidence that oozes out of you because you know that all things are working for your good. Joy is simply knowing who is in control and being thankful in all of life’s moments.

This is something that Mike and I are trying to exemplify to our kids on the daily. We have our good days where joy is a given. And, we have the struggle bus days where we are gritting our teeth with our hands raised high in surrender. We want them to know that happiness is temporary and based on circumstances. Joy is looking beyond the moment. It’s seeing the bigger picture. Y’all, I’m preaching to myself right now.

Let me be real, I am not always peachy. I struggled today with being nice to Mike. Yes, this is real life with us. LOL. He was riding in my car, and He stunk. He had worked out and had a funkyyyy smell. My mouth (well, my nose) couldn’t let it go. I kept bringing it up. Our conversation went into a direction that I didn’t like. My optimistic self went south. I had a choice and failed at making the right choice. This is the little moments that end up robbing us of our joy. Mike said something to me that stirred so much insecurity. Y’all, my joy, my confidence in God was being shaken and was almost out of the window. Once again, I learned a lesson. Sorry, Mike, for being a pain at times. Love you!!

So, that is my heart spill for this week. Choose joy. Choose positivity. And, choose a pretty dress!!! Hope that y’all have a wonderful weekend.
