Tips and Tricks to Grow your Blog

Are you struggling with knowing how to grow your blog? Have you wondered how others are doing it? Well, I’ve only been in pursuit of blogging for a year and a half, but I have learned a thing or two from research, from wisdom imparted from other blogger friends and from trial and error. I know the key to growing your blog is understanding that it’s not about being better than others but about being excellent at portraying what makes you “YOU”. With a million and one bloggers out there, my biggest tip that I can share with you is to be authentic. After receiving so many emails and messages from other bloggers on what has helped me to grow, I decided to share my TOP 5 tips and tricks. I’ve learned so many do’s and don’ts {and still learning}, but I’ll keep this simple.

My top FIVE tips and tricks to grow your blog:

•Pick two to three topics that interest you and set your theme. Focus on this theme and build your blog from there. For example: my top three interest are faith, family and fashion. So, I try to write accordingly to those topics. Another tip is to never choose your topics/theme for your blog based on someone else’s success. Remember, the #1 trick to grow your blog is to be YOU. Be authentic.
•Be consistent with your weekly post on your blog and social media accounts. Our readers and followers look forward to knowing more about us, our weekly updates/events, our current wish-list, and our newest items added to our closet.. Lol. I usually post three times a week. This schedule has worked best for me as a mom of four little ones. I try to be active on my social media accounts daily or every other day. Another trick, set up a post schedule, a weekly plan.
•Join blogging communities and/or Facebook pages. Finding these connections has been vital to growth with my blog. These communities and Facebook pages are based on your blogging niche, and they offer support with your blog post, encouragement when feeling overwhelmed, and information on companies and possible collaborations. I searched on Facebook and found a few that I love: Style Collective, Grow Your Blog, RewardStyle Bloggers, Show Your Blog Love, and The Social Society. These are closed groups, and you do have to be “approved” to join them!
Just research which ones are best for you.
•Grow your social media accounts especially Instagram. I say Instagram because companies that have reached out to me have mentioned liking my engagement and numbers on that account. Growing your account means that you have to ENGAGE. It is so important to dedicate time throughout the week to comment and to show love to other bloggers and your followers. You can join giveaways {Whiteafterlaborday is who I started participating in giveaways when I first started. She is so sweet and does an excellent job coordinating them.} Join comment pods/DM groups or create your own pod. I have done both. You need to use hashtags. A Pinch of Lovely just shared 100+ of the best hashtags. All of these are simple tips but take effort to bring the growth.
•Work with companies that best suite your style and your brand. As you grow, companies will reach out to you, but you want their products to blend well with the theme of your blog. If you are interested in a certain boutique or brand, you can also reach out to them and share why you and your blog would help with the growth of their business. I’ve found a few very helpful pitches online when I googled pitch templates. You will want to include a few statistics, links to your blog and social media accounts.
