Happy Friday my friends!! Hope that you have recouped from the 4th. I love celebrating especially when it comes to celebrating our freedom.. and our nation. We are blessed regardless of what we may see and hear on the news.

And, another fact about myself is that I love celebrating my healthy, blooming plants.  AM I alone in being wild about plants?? Currently, I am nurturing a ton of baby cactuses, succulents, two fiddle leaf figs, roses, a lemon tree, a blueberry bush, and a blackberry bush. Y’all, it makes my heart go pitter patter. My favorite baby as of now is those fiddle leaf fig trees. They are the most sensitive plants that I have ever owned. It likes 1-2 cups of water on the same day each week and at the same exact time. It thrives off of a very strict schedule.

I love to go check on each plant and make sure that they are healthy. I (or Mike) look at the soil, add water when needed, check the sunlight, and watch for discoloration or diseases. The maintenance and nurturing matters. They are maturing because they have been in a balanced, consistent environment.

Okay, this isn’t a plant life 101 class so I’ll spare you the lecture. BUT, that healthy, thriving life for us humans requires pretty much the same environment . We were designed to have an appetite for the things of God. When we allow His thoughts, His words, His attitude, His reaction, His heart, His desires to overtake our own, we will see the maturity begin to come forth: healthy heart, mind and soul. Wisdom, balance, security, and growth are the outcome. Come on somebody.. that is what I’m talking about!!!

A healthy appetite and a hungry soul moves God. Our balanced diet is where we will find that overwhelming peace and security: It is well with my soul. The beautiful truth is that He delights in us.. He delights in every detail of our life. That makes my heart skip a beat.
