Happy Friday, y’all!! The weekend has arrived. Well, my Instagram friend who is now a legit friend is coming to NOLA with her hubby. A double date with this fabulous couple is happening tonight #yay {follow along on snapchat: dashing_darlin}!! All of the friendships that have formed along the way through blogging has been so amazing.
To be able to share life, the stories and the struggles, with other women from other parts of the world has been so rewarding and extremely inspiring. With blogging, part of my purpose has definitely been to shout it from the rooftops that we are ALL unique and we are all perfectly designed by God.
Just like so many other women, the battle has been so real. Throughout the years, trying to win the affections and the approval from those around me was a legit struggle. I had this crazy notion that if they liked me a lot, noticed me and befriended me that I would feel more important or feel better about myself. The lesson learned was that no one can truly make me feel prettier, happier or more valuable. It’s simply learning to believe that I AM ENOUGH. None of us need the approval from man to confirm that truth. We only need God’s stamp of approval.
“I found that I was more confident when I stopped trying to be someone else’s definition of beautiful and started being my own.” Remington Miller
Onto a less serious subject, denim shorts are so my jam. Other shorts just don’t seem to get as much love from me. This darlin’ pair from Vici Collection has been on major repeat because the loose fit is perfect for these healthy thighs of mine. Those linked below are a few other styles that I have and I love. By the way, this olive cargo jacket has been a fall staple going on three years. You can purchase this exact one HERE from CS Gems for only $35.

By the way, how have you taken steps to overcome this battle of needing other’s approval?? The approval addiction can be so overwhelming. The good news is that we are not alone in this struggle.
Also, some more good news is that you have the chance to WIN $1,000. All you have to do is post your own refreshing thoughts on Twitter or Instagram and include the hashtag #RefreshingThoughts. By the way, your quote has the possibility of being featured on Niagara Water’s packaging #howcool!! So, good luck, and I can’t wait to read your thoughts!!
Lady friend, you SO blow me away!! You are such a beautiful soul and an absolute bombshell to boot!!! ADORE this look on you!!!

I LOVE this blog post!!! You are soooo, so right. It’s such a great reminder. I feel like the older I get, the more confident I’ve become. I wish I can tell my 20 year old self that confidence is what’s most important. Everything else will fall naturally into place just as long as there’s confidence.
Btw, LOVE your hair!
This whole outift is adorable!! I love the shorts they look perfectly lived in!! This jacket is also a staple for fall!

You’re so awesome!! I love that you incorporate fashion and you passion for God! This is exactly what I’ve been trying to figure out for my blog. I’m a total nubby and has had such a difficult time finding my niche. I love fashion but don’t want to neglect the fact that I have a deep desire to share the word of God as well!!

Chasing the approval of others really just makes things harder on us. I love this outfit and how you paired it with the nicer shoes. I hope your insta meet up was great.
Trying to get approval from other bloggers, be noticed by some, and what not has been a recent struggle of mine. You’re so right that the only approval I should be looking for is His. Thanks for this!

I love how inspirational your posts are. I feel like all my life I struggled with wanting people to like me and accept me. It’s only been within the past year that I’ve gotten a handle on that addiction and realized that I am enough as am. I definitely slip up every once in a while. But I feel like any progress is good progress!
angelle–hey beautiful, it’s been a while since i stopped by but you look amazing as always. i LOVE how your instagram friend became you LEGIT friend. that stuff is the bomb isn’t it! (hope i get to meet you one day!). i agree with everything you’ve stated here, it is such a battle, but having women like you in my life remind me of the positive things, that i am enough, makes it all worthwhile. keep doing what you do babe. and ps–i need to try this exact look!! xoxo,

If Larry’s intention was to break cultural taboos and criticise Jewish/Israeli enthnocentric ideologies and policies he could’ve accomplished this in a more clear and obvious manner. The average person watching this episode who isn’t deeply informed about the conflict will undoubtedly consume it at face value and will be unable to decipher all these &#b022;su8versions” u claim exists. Essentially, this episode will serve to further reinforce harmful stereotypes about Palestinians and garner even greater support for the racist apartheid policies of Israel.
