So, with Mother’s Day being only days away, we have started to plan ways to make that day extra special. I’m a mom {greatest and most rewarding job in the world}, but it took a very special lady to lead me and direct me from a very young age to know how to do my job well. My mom is one of the best that I know. We call her the energizer bunny. She can go and go and serve and serve. I don’t think that she ever gets tired of pouring out her love and living a life of service. I shared a story with a friend about how I remember her going take care of my grandparents especially my Maw Maw. I remember watching my mom nurture my Maw Maw even until her last days on earth. I get all teary eyed thinking about it. I recall the room in that trailer, the smell of her scent, and this brass decoration that sat on my Paw Paw’s dresser. My mother taught me to be a servant and to do it without complaining. And, I’m so very thankful for her modeling that to me.
.
.
Not only do my kids and I have my mom as a role model in their life. We have my mother in law too. So, we have two wonderful ladies who model to us the extravagant love of a mother. From phone calls to home cooked meals, my kids do not lack the affirmation and attention from their two grandmas. We all can learn a thing or two from the sacrificial and agape love that they pour out.
.
.
I aspire to be more like both of them. I’m not saying that they are perfect {no one is… I’m far from it.}. I’m saying that they have attributes that are beautiful and that exemplify the heart of God for His children. They have cheered me on in my exhaustion, and they have stepped up to plate when I didn’t have another hand to juggle all four kids. I want to honor them both as beautiful examples in my life and my children’s lives.
.
.
As a mom, what have I learned over the years?!!!
•I will fail, but it doesn’t mean that I failed as a mom.
•It’s okay to have a bad day. His mercies are new each morning.
•My children will imitate what I do. I need to exemplify Christ which is something great to imitate.
•It’s so simple: my kids want more of me not more things.
•Their heart needs my acceptance and my affirmation. They crave positive attention throughout the day {7 praises for every one correction}.
•I need to know the details of their personality and big heart. What matters to them needs to matter to me.

And, I have learned a lot along the way, and I also learned that shopping for outfits for the entire family is no joke. Old Navy always makes it easy on me. They have so many cute, summer prints for the entire family. From California florals to palm prints to classic gingham, they have a little bit of everything. Check out Bella and I’s adorable, graphic tees. We are twinsies!!! Make sure to check your local Old Navy for our outfit ensembles or you can shop below.
I want to wish you all a very, Happy Mother’s Day. May you feel the overwhelming love from your family and beyond.
*Thanks to Old Navy for sponsoring this post, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

I would not purchase any of their products. Why? Because I am sick and tired of their advertisements covering the content of an article I am reading.
