First of all, Happy New Year!! Thank you so much for faithfully supporting Dashing Darlin’. You do not realize how much that I truly appreciate each one of you. Your support and encouragement has been mind blowing. Btw, I had to share these pics in memory of Christmas 2016. It came and went too quickly.
So, with the arrival of 2017, aren’t we suppose to have some type of resolutions?!! Or goals?!??
I personally love to take inventory of myself, and hello, I need to do this more than just once a year. I have health goals like everyone else: lose ten pounds and get fit. And, spiritual goals: to grow closer to GOD. And, I’ve got some practical goals too. Sheesh.. what else!! LOL!! Mike would like for me to be more organzied in the house and fold the darn clothes that sit in the laundry baskets for days. Those aren’t so important to me {I kid}!!! So, what about my personal career goals?!??
I have friends, family, acquaintances and even strangers ask me often why have I pursued blogging. What is my goal?? What is my incentive?! And, every time that I get asked this question, I search my heart in that moment to answer honestly. I know what originally compelled me, but I have to ask myself often what is keeping me in this field of social media and brand marketing. Is it fame, is it recognition, is it vanity, is it clothes, is it success, is it inspiration, is it love, is it dumb or is it just a dream of mine?!?
“Let’s take a good look at the way we’re living and reorder our lives under God.”
Lamentations 3:40
Self reflection:
careful thought about one’s character, actions, and motives.
Goals:
an aim or desired result
What should my aim ultimately be?!?? Gosh, as I reflect, I could name 100 things that I need to change in my life #nojoke. I am not perfect.. so far from it…. a few kinks!!! But, my aim to be productive and to be successful {as a wife, mom, friend and even blogger} should always center around pleasing the Father. When I leave Him out of the equation, I don’t find lasting fulfillment.
“So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.”
2 Corinthians 5:
In this career journey, I have felt over and over and over the approval from my Heavenly Father. I know that I know that God is the one who has connected me to every person, every marketer, every company, and every opportunity. So, if I can encourage or deposit some inspiration and Godly wisdom into each reader along the way, then it’s all worth it to me. Ultimately, the goal is to honor Him with excellence in all that I do.
I have felt so honored to have worked with so many amazing brands, clothing boutiques, online stores and even local businesses this past year. I look forward to all of the future collaborations, growth, friendships and memories in 2017. Let’s do our best to be productive in all that we set our hands to do. CHEERS to 2017.
I love y’all BIG. Cheering you on in all that you are destined to be and to do!!
P.S. My boots are currently 50% off right now, and our beanies are from Purple Peridot are on major sale too!!
