“I don’t know a PERFECT person or a PERFECT city or a PERFECT job or a PERFECT restaurant or a PERFECT marriage, or a PERFECT family. I only know flawed people, places and situations who are all still worth my time, my affections, my acceptance, and my effort.”

If you have been to New Orleans, you know that it isn’t the perfect city. It has a funky smell {urine mixed with garbage}, the roads are crappy, crime happens often, and you may meet a few sketchy people. BUT, it has beauty all around, character on each building and home, creative people on every corner, and DELICIOUS FOOD. Y’all, I’m willing to forget/forgive all of the imperfections because the richness and amazingness is there!! This makes me think of my own life. My eyes can easily be drawn to my shortcomings or the shortcomings of others. Perfect people aren’t real, AND real people aren’t perfect. Striving for a perfect world is boring and ridiculous; being gracious and more gracious with myself and others is where all of the fun is!!!

It’s always fun to evaluate the deepest parts of our heart and our mind.. Right?!? Mine is screaming for just a refresh button and not perfection, not comparison, not frustration, not fear, not compromise. As I’m working on my computer and deleting emails and ready to read the new ones, I’m pressing the refresh button over and over. That is what we need to do in those moments of self hate or frustration and disappointment with others.. delete and refresh, delete and refresh, delete and refresh!!!!
“I will hold myself and others to a standard of grace not perfection.”
“If you change nothing. Nothing will change.”

While on the subject of perfection, I do have to say that this coral maxi is seriously perfect. I felt like a sassy, classy lady when I rocked it in Nola last week. What I love about River Island is that they offer so many styles in both regular and petite. This girl needs petite when it comes to maxis. A dress dragging on the ground is never classy especially in Nola. LOL.

Again, this River Island coral maxi dres is simply perfect. The color says red online, but it is closer to a coral red which is my favorite shade of red. And, the U.K. sizing is a little different so I usually go a size up. I’m wearing a size 8. I’ll link my entire outfit below to make it easy for you to shop.
