“There is NO NEED to be perfect to INSPIRE others. Let people get INSPIRED by how you deal with your imperfections.”
What?!?? January 26 marked one year since I launched my blog. It’s overwhelming to think that so much has happened in this short time.
{well, talking about my imperfections: I had a delay in my anniversary post due to some issues with transferring my website from Blogger to WordPress.. Oops.. But, it’s better late than never.}
Just to recap what has happened in this past year:
I initially had this wild nudge to start sharing my daily outfits on Instagram and also include encouragement for other young ladies, wives, moms, daughters, sisters to find their identity and their self worth in the love of God not in their ability to look pretty, who they can impress, or what their talents are.
I remember thinking that if I reach 1,000 friends on Instagram that I might create a REAL blog to share more of my revelations. Well, when I hit that amazing number, I was in awe and humbled that people were genuinely connecting to me. But, I chickened out and upped the friend following to 5,000. When I shockingly reached that goal, I took the leap and launched my blog last January.
I can tell you right now that this journey has already taught me so much. I’ve discovered new strengths and weaknesses deep inside of me along the way.
For example, I have had moments of wrestling with fear of rejection and the unknown. It has exposed that tiny voice that still tries to whisper the lies of self doubt… “You don’t have what it takes.”, “You don’t fit the mold.”, “You can’t ever be as good as them.”, “You aren’t good enough to accomplish those God given dreams and aspirations.”
Honestly, the dreams and aspirations that He has placed in my heart have been birthed out of my deepest pain/struggle: my IDENTITY crisis {fear of man, lack of confidence, not knowing how to love or to receive love}. After experiencing healing and the love of Jesus, my ultimate purpose in life has been to direct wounded, unstable hearts to the perfect love of our Heavenly Father and to emphasize to everyone to put more value on what God says about us than man or the stinkin’ devil.
“God often uses our deepest pain as a launching pad to our greatest calling.”
“Life isn’t about finding yourself; It’s about discovering who God created you to be.”
With this blog celebration, I am confidently saying that I am not defined at what I accomplish or don’t accomplish, what I am talented at or not so talented at, who I get to like me or who doesn’t like me. My brand, my aesthetics, my style reflects a woman who has found safety in the acceptance of my Creator.
I want each us to confidently be able to state: Security, stability & success are the words that He MARKS my heart with forever, not inadequacy, failure or underachiever.
“Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between his shoulders.”
—Deuteronomy 33:12
Thanks for celebrating with me, and I hope to connect to you all in a deeper way in 2016. To stay up to date with my weekly blog post and exciting new adventures, subscribe to my mailing list below. Check out my two Valentine’s Day outfit inspirations that are created using the same red dress. I lost my balloon along the way while partying too hard with my photographer {tear}. By the way, Angie has been the best and such a God sent to help me.
