For all of you mommas out there with multiple kids, this post is just for you. I know that school resuming means extra time doing homework and less time playing. For our kids, we notice that they will get nothing accomplished if we don’t have a system set in place. This encourages them to be a bit more organized with their time each day so that they get it all accomplished and still have some play time.

1. Create + post a calendar or board with daily task and activities.
We currently have two areas where the kids can check-in to see what is expected of them. One board has all sports practices, games, and other extra curricular activities listed. And, the other board is daily chores that they have to execute. This has been a game changer. Mike is the one that is better at this and keeping it updated. It creates an environment of peace and responsibility.

2. Have an area where all homework assignments are kept.
All assignments, papers that need to be signed or field trip slips go on my counter. I have a corner and a drawer in the kitchen that is called my designated space. And, they know where to put the papers. I am thinking of purchasing a bamboo organizer to make it look a little nicer. I linked it below.

3. Set up a daily routine.
The kids know what we expect of them the moment that they get home. It is homework, put away school bag, put uniform in the dirty clothes, play outside, dinner, bath/shower/brush teeth, chores, set out clean uniform/fill water bottles, and prayers/bedtime. We might watch a show together after dinner, but if it is too late, we skip that part. This keeps us all sane. Again, Mike and I started this from day one when Bella started Pre-K. We all get along so much better with an established routine.

4. Have a designated area where all homework or studying take place.
We have always had the kids stay in the kitchen at the table or the island to complete all homework. They are not allowed to bring their bags in their rooms or living room. This keeps all of the school stuff in one location. When they are done, they put everything in their own locker. So far, they have done really well with this and keeping track of their school stuff. If you don’t have lockers or hooks for their school bags, I suggest creating a space where all of that goes after homework and studying. This helps mornings run so much smoother. I linked a door rack below along with some baskets to keep extra school supplies.

5. Stick with the the routine until it becomes a habit.
This is where it takes patience and more patience. My kids will still try to get out of these habits just like my dog still tries to pee inside instead of saving his nasty urine for outside. We just have to remind them “what are you suppose to be doing right now?”. And, they know exactly what is expected of them. We aren’t perfect by all means, but Mike is happier when their is some type of organization. And, the kids seem to be happier too. I am cool with a routine or with chaos. Ha!!

What do y’all do to help your kids stay organized and on task?? I’d love to know. Hope that this helped encourage some mommas out there. Again, Mike is a huge help in helping with that routine life.
