In the south, celebrations always include GOOD FOOD and friends. You can’t have one without the other. So, January, Brigette, Karli and I decided to meet up in Baton Rouge at the BRQ restaurant to start celebrating 2018 a little early. It was a much needed girl’s day with some of my favorites. It was a three hour lunch date that we will remember forever!!! Let’s just say that things didn’t go as planned. But, the most memorable moments with friends are the unplanned ones, right?!?
“A friend is not a coincidence in our life. They were a stranger meant to come into our life to bring us priceless lessons and funny memories.”
So, not only is this place decorated to perfection, BRQ restaurant is seriously one of the hottest restaurants in town. So, of course, we had to order one of everything. Take a peek below at our spread. We had queso, crab beignets, duck egg rolls, ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, baked beans, asparagus, mashed potatoes, and potato salad. Oh, and, I can’t forget cornbread. We stuffed our faces and still had lots to take home. If you are in the area, you must stop by BRQ restaurant. The layout of the restaurant makes it a perfect place for a large group or party destination, and hello, they cater too. I need to remember this next time that we host a party!!
We brought some photo props from home and dessert from Small Cakes for some fun pics on their porch!! What is celebrating without a fun photoshoot?!!!! WELL, for a bunch of bloggers, we are always ready to add a little photoshoot to the plans. It’s just another way to capture the memories being made between friends. By the way, I am so very thankful for these three girls and all of their encouragement and inspiration!! I love all of the connections that God has brought along with blogging. I would love to have lunch dates with all of them ASAP!! HA!! Can’t wait to make more memories with all of my girls in 2018.
P.S. I’ll link the photo props below for ya.
“New year.
New feels.
New breathe.
New chances.
Same dreams, fresh starts.
I dare you to believe in yourself.”
Thanks again for stopping by my blog. I always appreciate your support. I also have to give a shoutout to the lovely photographer, Alyssa Fisher, who put up with us for this photoshoot adventure. And, a huge shoutout to our two waiters from BRQ restaurant who blocked the harsh sun from our faces!! They are the best and deserved an extra tip!! Well, we paid them extra with cupcakes.
